Mohamed Haji, Advisor

Mr. Haji is a Director at NextEra Energy Partners and was previously co-founder and CEO of Rotan Energy. He has close to two decades of investment experience, and he previously worked at Silver Lake Partners, a global leader in technology private equity investing, where he was a key member of the investment team dealing with all aspects of transaction execution, portfolio management and origination. Prior to Silver Lake, Mr. Haji worked at Morgan Stanley as an investment banking analyst, focused on financial institutions and financial technology companies. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is from the United States, Somalia and Kenya.

Bryan McCoy, Advisor

Mr. McCoy was previously CEO of Yalelo, the leader within Africa’s aquaculture sector. He led the team in building a vertically-integrated company across the production, distribution and retail of tilapia and aquafeeds in Southern and Eastern Africa, with the purpose of sustainably providing an abundant supply of affordable protein to growing African markets. He was also previously a consultant at Bain & Company and held various roles at Sdemane Farming, Actis, H.I.G. Capital and TechnoServe. Mr. McCoy holds a BA in Economics from Williams College and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is originally from the United States but now splits his time primarily between Kenya and Zambia.

Samuel Killewo, Director

Born and raised in Tanzania, Mr. Killewo has extensive experience in agricultural value chains in Tanzania, having engaged in primary crop and livestock production in his formative years and having supported agricultural investments early in his career. Mr. Killewo was previously a consultant with Dalberg Advisors, a strategy and policy advisory firm focused on development, where he advised clients in the agriculture, manufacturing, energy and digital finance sectors, and also consulted on Tanzanian national agricultural policy. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Harvard University in the USA.

Nii Ashe Bruce, Director

Mr. Bruce grew up in Ghana and has experience working in various industries including agribusiness, international development, IT and corporate banking. Mr. Bruce previously co-founded SellRent Ghana, one of the leading real estate service firms in Ghana. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Liberal Arts from Ashesi University.

Rahim Mawji, Director

Mr. Mawji has previously worked in energy, consulting and education globally. He is co-author of the book, Tanzania’s Industrialization Journey, 2016-2056. Mr. Mawji holds a BA in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University and MA from Tsinghua University in China where he was a Schwarzman Scholar. He is from Tanzania and Kenya.

Daniel Glenn, Director

Mr. Glenn served in the United States military for a decade, acting as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy’s elite Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit, where he was deployed to Iraq and other hotspots around the globe. He studied International Relations at the United States Naval Academy before earning a M.A. in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland. He earned his second Master’s in Economics & Business as a Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University in Beijing. In the private sector, Mr. Glenn has acted in a variety of capacities: as a turnaround CEO and CIO of an investment firm, as a co-founder, venture capitalist, and now as the Chief of Staff of GoodLeap.
